It's been more than one week without any posts.

Last week our very close friends Esra and Mustafa came from Istanbul for Pitti Uomo Fair in Florence. Those who are interested in fashion would know, Pitti Uomo is one of the most prestigious fairs for menswear fashion. We added up business and pleasure and kept them company. Even though our relationship with the fashion world is limited with a few clothes which we buy throughout the year, it has been a very interesting experience for us. We've got some hints about how to dress my husband for 2012-2013 winter season, I don't know how practicable though :)

Since we had all been to Florence before, we had already seen the main places such as Duomo and Ponte Vecchio. So we preferred to go around in the streets of Florence and, why not, stop by a few shops since it was just the right time for sales. On our last day we had the opportunity to visit Gucci Museum which we came across by chance while wandering around the streets the night before. -Considering their price tags all Gucci shops seem quite a museum to most of us anyway!:)- By the way, when I say "we" I just mean the girls, the boys preferred to go their separate ways, the idea of visiting a museum, what's more a museum on Gucci didn't look much tempting for them;)

We had the chance to see a very wide range of Gucci products from 20's until today and they weren't only limited to bags and clothing. Suitcases, scarves, a 1979 Cadillac by Gucci, bicycle, surfboard, flippers, snorkel, saddles, picnic set, thermos and many more. Nevertheless what's got our utmost attention was obviously the floor where they exhibit the glamorous dresses carried by Naomi Watts, Hilary Swank and Kate Beckinsale on the red carpet for various occasions like Academy Awards, Cannes Festival... Since we had difficulty to conceive if it was possible we asked and yes, embroidery is all handmade!

The only thing that disappointed us was we weren't allowed to take any pictures, there are employees every floor and you are very closely followed. All the same, I managed to find some photos thanks to Google.

After spending two and half days in Florence we finally headed back our home in Monte San Vito and we spent the rest of our days around here except our visit to San Leo which is a stunning medieval town with a beautiul fortress that hosts also a Torture Museum. We walked a lot, ate a lot, laughed a lot. We had five beautiful days that the time flew. It is nice to have some guests over but once they leave the house feels so empty and sad. It is a question, often asked, is it harder to leave or stay behind? I experienced both for several occasions and I always found the staying harder.

Following the written report of the reasons in detail for the blog's inactive days, let's go back to the very reason for Thermomix Tarif Defterim's existence, which is food! :)

When I published the Tortellini Recipe in last December I mentioned that we make Tortellini in Broth on Christmas day. I wanted to add its photograph today. I won't be giving a specific recipe.

The Tortellini which you see in the picture are really the ones that we made that day. We prepared and put them in the freezer to have them ready for Christmas. We cooked them in broth.

It takes very short to cook fresh tortellini, around 3-5 minutes so make sure you check them every couple of minutes. They are served into the plates with some broth as well.

Sprinkle with some grated parmesan.

Enjoy...
