Meat Loaf With Dried Fruits

You could prepare this delicious meat loaf as appetizer/starter.

30g raisins
50g Rum
30g walnuts
30g blanched almonds
500g veal, chopped into 3cm cubes
100g dried apricots, seeds removed and cut into strips
100g dried plums, seeds removed and cut into strips
1/2 - 1 tsp salt
A pinch of black pepper
600g water

Optional:  You can steam some veggies in the Varoma Tray

  • Put raisins and Rum in a bowl and allow to soak a little while
  • In the meantime chop walnuts and almonds for 3 seconds on Speed 6 and set aside
  • Mince 250g of the meat for 10 seconds on Speed 7, set aside
  • Mince the remaining 250g of the meat for 10 seconds on Speed 7.
  • Put back all the minced meat inside TM Bowl
  • Strain well the raisins and add into TM Bowl
  • Add chopped walnuts-almonds, dried apricots and plums, salt and pepper. Mix for 20 seconds on Reverse / Speed 3
  • Divide meat mixture into half and make 2 rolls. Wrap each with oiled aluminum foil. Close the ends nicely. Place them into Varoma Bowl
  • Put water in TM Bowl. Place Varoma Bowl and cook for 30 minutes at Varoma Temperature on Speed 1
  • When cooked, set aside and allow to cool
  • Let it rest in the fridge about 2 hours before you serve
  • Cut into 1cm slices and serve

Buon Appetito...

It is adapted from A Tutto Vapore

Note: You can serve with sour cream and green salad leaves. I've used a sauce which I prepared with philadelphia-yogurt-paprika
